Each angel ornament is made with pieces of clear iridized glass for the wings, a 3/4” glass nugget for the head, and a single piece of glass (your choice of color from stock) for the body. Constructed using Tiffany’s foil method, a scalloped foil is used on the body for additional embellishment. Most of the angels remain with polished silver solder, but patina can be applied for a copper or black outline. Decorative solder techniques are used to create the hair and to embellish the wings. 14 gauge pre-tinned copper wire is used for the arms, and the tiny hands hold between them an acrylic colored heart. Finally, 16 gauge wire is used to create the halo and to embellish the robe. There is a variety of colored ribbon and string available to choose from for hanging your angel. This particular angel features a dog crafted form a single piece of 14 gauge wire, with a smaller wire affixed around the pup’s neck with a tiny bead for a collar. A piece of thicker wire can be applied to make the angel a garden stake rather than a hanging ornament or sun catcher.
